Abstract: Vision-based devices have been entering... In this paper, we will discuss one of the main reasons for this `failure' of technological ambition: It is the the ambiguity of local visual information. In a nutshell, most visual systems (see, e.g., [98, 103, 109, 94, 82, 139, 21, 81, 73]), and in particular the human visual system (see ,e.g., [55]), analyse in its first stages local image areas.
