Abstract: this paper
a TS for SHIO, an expressive DL whose computational properties to the
best of our knowledge have not been analysed so far. The purpose of this is
two-fold:
rstly, we obtain that SHIO satis
ability is ExpTime-complete and
can be decided by a tableau algorithm. Secondly, the succinctness of the proofs
demonstrates how our framework simpli
es the design of tableau algorithms (Update)
