Abstract: The University of Illinois has been active in research in the dependable computing field for over 50 years. Fundamental ideas have been proposed and major contributions made by researchers at the University of Illinois in the areas of error detection and recovery, fault tolerance middleware, testing and diagnosis, experimental evaluation and benchmarking of system dependability, dependability modeling, and secure system design and validation.
