Abstract:

Abstract. Motivatedbytheneedtosolvecomplexbargainingsituationsinreallifeapplications, thispaperdefinesaSimpleConstrainedBargainingGame,CBG(S),whichextendsthegames that havebeentackledinmathematicalgametheorysofar.Inthegame,thesellerisconstrainedbya costandthenumberofdaystosell;thebuyerisconstrainedbyautilityandthenumberofdaysto buy. Neither side knows the opponent’s constraints. This is a simple problem from the real life sense,buthardformathematicalanalysis.Strategiesfortacklingthisproblemhavebeenexamined. Someofthesestrategies,togetherwithaplatformforconductingcomputationalexperimentsinthis game,have beenimplemented.Preliminaryresultsarereported.Componentsinthesestrategiesare identifiedtoprepareforanevolutionaryapproachthattacklestheSimpleConstrainedBargaining Game.
