Abstract: An approach to the HP protein folding model, first described by Dill [1], was developed using a standard genetic algorithm to find the optimal structures on a 3D lattice. Instead of using special operators, encodings and other forms of applying knowledge about the problem [2, 3, 4], we decided to build the algorithm as generic as possible. (Update)
