Abstract: b is a MAC and PHY layer standard for wireless LANs. These networks are widely used and can be easily spotted in various universities, airports, railway stations and coee shops. When compared to wired networks, these networks provide a meager bandwidth of 11Mbps. There is a need to study these networks to suggest any possible performance enhancements and improvements at the MAC and Application layers.
