Abstract:

GENX is a Framework that provides basic functions to simulate Electrophoresis in gel. Electrophoresis in gel is a technique used to separate and visualize molecules, especially DNA, RNA and proteins that differ in size, charge or conformation. It is used in biochemistry since 30’s and currently it has been widely used in molecular biologic. The initial implementation of GENX will simulate Electrophoresis in gel by digestion with restriction enzimes. The first step of this technique of Electrophoresis is to cut an DNA sequence to generate many fragments of this sequence (digestion with restriction enzimes) and put this fragments into a container filled with a special gel. When a electric current is applied into this gel for a estabilished
