Abstract: this paper is minimal. We propose to show that certain pragmatic aspects of the common ground--specifically, the shared information about the DISCOURSE SITUATION [Barwise and Perry, 1983], i.e., which speech acts have been performed in a conversation and their hierarchical organization--can be captured using technical tools that are essentially those of Discourse Representation Theory (DRT) [Kamp and Reyle, 1993], whose `dynamic' properties are also preserved.
