Abstract:

Abstract- Tapped-delay-line processors have been widely employed in conventional wideband digital arrays. This type of space-time processing generally suffers from the need of very high sampling rates, phase shifters and delay elements. In this paper, an adaptive wideband linear rectangular array of omnidirectional antenna elements is proposed. This array requires no phase compensation and employs a single real multiplier for each antenna branch. In addition to having real multipliers, a practical advantage of the proposed array over other conventional algorithms is that the number of antenna elements, required for a relatively high fractional bandwidth, is much lower than comparable wideband beam-formers.
