Abstract: This paper reviews some of this work. The structure is as follows: section 2 discusses existing work relevant to the project aims; section 3 describes the UML based language we propose for the structural specification of distributed systems and their Quality of Service; section 4 discusses the use of Statecharts as a language for behavioural specification within our framework (Update)
