Abstract: Higher order languages extend traditional database query languages. They allow quantification of rneta-variables over schema labels: relations and attributes. They were developed to federate heterogeneous databases and show promise in providing global information services in DBMS systems. The primary motivation for that work is the availability on the network of an increasing amount of data sources, with emerging exchange standards like XML. This paper develops a method to compile higher order... (Update)
