Abstract: this report is structured as follows: Section 2 provides a brief background on the issue, it analyzes the different mechanisms that can achieve synchronous execution, and explains our case for increasing the clock interrupt frequency. Section 3 evaluates the overhead in increasing the clock interrupt frequency, while Section 4 evaluates the improvement in the timing accuracy of alarms and periodic I/O interrupts after our modifications.
