Abstract:

Vice-Chancellor’s preface Macquarie enjoyed exceptional success in 1999 as an innovative, scholarly, research-based, global university, well-poised and located (in the middle of Australia’s ‘silicon valley’) to meet the needs of the 21st century. The forthcoming Parramatta-Macquarie-Sydney centre rail link, announced during 1999 by the New South Wales Government, will further enhance the University’s excellent position.
