Abstract: Vendor managed inventory (VMI) is a procurement system that relies on the vendor to monitor the demand of a customer, then design and implement a system to supply the customer. In the ideal, the vendor alone is responsible for determining the customer demand levels and meeting those needs, though in practice collaboration is necessary for a successful system. (Update)
