Expansion Postponement Problem for Pure Type Systems with Universes
Abstract:
Abstract Extended Pure Type Systems ( PTS) are an extension of PTS and other theories with dependent strong sums and a hierarchy among universes determined by a relation between sorts. A interesting property to be studied in these systems is the Expansion Postponement problem (EP). The relevance of EP is based on its application to the correctness proof of many type checking systems. EP still is an open problem for arbitrary PTS, even for normalizing PTS. In this work we present dierent approaches to get the EP property in generic PTS systems via a mechanism based on hereditary properties between type systems.
