Abstract: This document will provide some background information on the Internet and will discuss research in the Internet as it applies to mobility support and next generation protocol development. Although a general introduction to Internet research will be given, the primary focus of this paper is on Mobile IP which is an extension to Internet protocols that facilitates the mobility of computers on the Internet.
