Abstract: At the heart of round robin tournament problems lies a constraint that groups teams into pairs of opponents. Arc-consistency for this pairing constraint can be reduced to finding in a graph all edges that are not covered by any maximum matching. We give an algorithm for this problem by adapting related techniques from graph matching and analyse its complexity. The performance of the resulting technique for round robin scheduling is examined on a variety of benchmarks. For typical tournament... (Update)
