Abstract: In this report the formal background is formulated for the application of Dynamic Syntax (6) to the parsing of free text traffic accident reports. It accompanies a first implementation of the approach using Active Database technology (8). Dynamic syntax seems to be ideally suited for this task because it concentrates on non-mediated transformation of a natural language string into a meaning representation or database structure. That is, there is no requirement to first assign syntactic... (Update)
