Abstract: This paper reports on experiences gained in porting a parallel language onto a virtual
shared memory parallel architecture. The language is Strand, a parallel framework
language, with its origins in concurrent logic programming. The target architecture is
a Kendall Square Research system, a virtual shared memory parallel machine which
provides a light-weight thread model programming interface.
