Abstract: In this paper we investigate the efficient implementation of lazy narrowing, the usual operational semantics of functional logic languages, making use of abstract interpretation. In order to avoid reevaluations of arguments in a function call, they must be evaluated as soon as possible. The detection of which (parts of the) arguments need evaluation is done by means of demandedness analysis. In contrast to previous approaches our analysis retains laziness and gives a very accurate... (Update)
