Abstract: The Java programming language offers several possibilities to build parallel applications. To explore these possibilities and to test their applicability, we have built four parallel Java programs. These programs are also written for Manta, a native Java compiler developed at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, based on Sun's RMI model and JavaParty's RMI model. In this paper, the performance and applicability of both systems are evaluated and explained by means of four parallel programs: Fast... (Update)
