Abstract: A sequent calculus which provides the basis for proving properties of Opal programs is presented. First we describe the syntactic framework of the formula language. This language is simpler than Opal, but there is still a direct correspondence to most of the Opal language constructs. We then introduce the calculus, which is divided into a Basic and an Extended Calculus. An example proof is given to illustrate usage of the calculus. This research was partly sponsored by Daimler-Benz AG... (Update)
