Abstract: This paper introduces a new application of the array/matrix notation introduced by R. Tait [1] and applies it to the analysis of phase process type SM=SM=1 queues. Arrays easily describe matrices of matrices of . . . . These structures are in turn natural forms for the description of the phase processes of M. Neuts [2] and their application to queues.
