Abstract: SPC is a new parallel programming model that imposes synchronization restrictions in order to allow for fully automatic, retargetable program optimization. Programming models aimed at optimum expressiveness of parallelism, however, are not amenable to static cost estimation. The motivation for the model is the conjecture that in practice the loss of parallelism due to the inherent synchronization restrictions is less than a very small factor for most parallel computations. The limited... (Update)
