Showing the Independence of An Axiom for Temporal Intervals by Model Generation
Abstract:
Allen and Hayes [1, 2] proposed to axiomatize temporal intervals, using the predicate "I MEETS J " as a primitive. The meaning of the predicate is that, the end of the interval I is the same as the beginning of the interval J. We shall use I: J for "I MEETS J ". There are 5 axioms:
