Abstract:
In this paper we present anoverview of a project concerned with the con guration of telecommunication systems. The long term goal of this project is a elded knowledge-based con guration system to support the work of consultants of the Deutsche Telekom AG. In this paper we analyze how and why the con guration of telecommunication systems di ers from the con guration of other technical systems like cars and airplanes. We will present the design rationales and the architecture of a new prototypical system and describe some of its components and their interaction.
