Abstract: Introduction We propose to advance the use of finite domain constraints, and their associated solver algorithms, in industrial research and development. This initiative has already been taken in France, where companies such as Cosytec, ILOG, and EDS are successfully applying such techniques in a wide range of industrial applications.
