Abstract:

The aim of this paper is three fold. First, we extend classical propositional dynamic logic as little as possible so that the resultant system can express indirect eects of actions while preserving almost all the desirable attributes such as soundness and completeness, decidability and the nite model property. Second, we introduce a mechanism of inference for reasoning on action descriptions. This makes it possible to hierarchize the consistency of action description. Finally, we show how to deal with the problems of ramication, explanation con iction and dependency of uents by the technique of consistency analysis.
