Abstract: The study and analysis of biological diversity has got paramount importance in life sciences. The change in any environmental factor, biotic or abiotic, turns up on diversity indices, and, at the same time, diversity is a measure of ecosystem performance. Diversity models are scarce, largely phenomenological and based on differential equations or statistical distributions; that is the reason why diversity has received attention lately from the artificial life field.
