Abstract: We present an approach for drawing plausible inferences from inconsistent and incomplete knowledge-bases. The knowledge-bases under consideration may be prioritized. Our method is based on four-valued semantics, which is particularly suitable for reasoning with uncertainty. The inference mechanism is also closely related to some other wellknown formalisms for handling inconsistent data, such as reasoning with maximal consistent subsets and possibilistic logic.
