Abstract: This paper intends to discuss the particular use of problem information within the schedule builder. Uckun, et al, (1993), suggest that schedule builders generally have three functions: to search locally for information not supplied by the chromosome; to enforce constraints required by the manufacturer (such as machine maintenance, set up times, and line constraints), and to build the actual schedules for all machines / lines in the factory. The problem in this paper stem from a particular... (Update)
