Abstract:
We propose an algebra of object types that characterises the semantics of concurrent objects in a process calculus setting where the communication is asynchronous. The types are non-uniform, and provide an internal (and synchronous) view of the objects that inhabit them. These ideas, along with the algebraic laws, are based on a notion of bisimulation that is unlike other notions in the literature. 1
